Botox is very popular among our clients! Botox, nuceiva & dysport are neuromodulators, better known as muscle relaxants. Neuromodulators work by blocking the transmission of nerve impulses to the injected muscles; this reduces the activity of the muscles that cause those persistent lines to form. As the muscle weakens, the wrinkles in the skin gradually soften and often disappear, giving the face a more relaxed and refreshed look.
Dynamic wrinkles appear when engaging the muscle by expressing emotions such as fear, worry, joy, or sadness. You will notice a dynamic wrinkle every time you laugh, frown, cry, and smile or during deep concentration. Dynamic lines fade as quickly as they appear.
Static wrinkles, however, remain on the face even after our facial muscles relax and typically deepen with age.
Collagen production decreases as we age and causes the skin to lose elasticity. As a result, dynamic wrinkles such as lines on the forehead or frown eventually become static wrinkles over time. Fine lines and wrinkles can be further emphasized by diet, smoking, stress, and genetics.
